INTRODUCTION

This is Victoria Hinshaw, welcoming you to our journey to Waterloo and back.  Tomorrow morning and for subsequent Mondays through December 1, I will post lessons here on Yahoo groups.

I will also post them on a blog I have begun for this course

which will have pictures to accompany the text.

The first lesson is designed to provide the context for the rest of the course, though I am sure most of you are already quite familiar with the material covered.
I will also post some files on the Academe Yahoo group site and on the blog as well.  I’ll let you know when these are posted.

YOUR FIRST ASSIGNMENT, STUDENTS:

Please introduce yourselves and tell us your writing interests.  Why are you participating in this course?  Do you have some specific goals such as how to situate your hero or heroine on the battlefield?
What are your writing interests? And anything else you want to add…just be concise, if you please.

I hope we have a lively discussion here on Yahoo groups.
